Big announcement: I am getting ready to launch the sequel to "A Divided Heart Between Desire and Commitment." (Formally "In His Love", by Deborah Brodie)

First transition was wrestling with the question of changing my published maiden name to my married name. The other decision was changing the tittle to a more descriptive one targeting the books theme and plot for the readers.

My first book, "The Path that Gets Brighter," was written during a long season of challenges and transition. Which is why there has been such a long time span between the first release and now finally the sequel. Lets face it - life happens suddenly.

We keep ourselves distracted with our to-do lists and over filling our calendar so we can glory in "I'm busy." But at the end of the day, we are not in control of life getting in the way. There is an old Yiddish saying, "We make plans, and God laughs."

So, try not to take yourself too seriously by not sweating the small stuff, and stop and breathe to enjoy the benefits and blessings showing up every day.

The soul of a writer is dark and lonely. Every wound, every hurt and dark imagination dwell there. Like a damn ready to break, our soul waits to be heard; our stories rise and fall like the morning dawn and the evening sunset burning into a crimson tide.

Like a hawk on its high perch we gaze upon the world around us waiting to consume its wonder. Every day we change from predator to prey; hunted to hunter. Victim to no-one, only to ones changing identity.

The ebb and flow of light flirts with darkness in the cave of our writer’s soul. As our darkness bows to the light, the two become mingled as the yin and the yang co-exist and thrive with each other. Neither one of them is good or bad, right or wrong. Together they learn to respect the roles each of them has to the bearer and holder of the unspoken words that deliver moments of reality speckled with glimmers of imagination and freedom from ritual and stale beliefs. For every word delivered has its season to bloom and blossom. For this reason our stories are subjective and beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

I began devouring books as a child, it was a way for my imagination and reality to co-exist. I was not physically capable of traveling, but through reading I was never alone, nor constricted to one place or dimension.

While other children my age had lofty dreams of being ballerinas, doctors, movie stars; my dream was to become an author of great tales. To transform peoples normal lives, their problems and worries to a place where their childhood imagination can live, breathe, and where reality begins to conform its shape and loosen its grip.

Today, I skip merrily across the genre lines. Other than giving me a clue of what section of the bookstore, library, or Amazon to search for a specific title, fitting a title to a genre reminds me of labels, and how we use them to judge, and enclose ourselves and other people in. As a reader, I enjoy stories of all genres. In fact, I am more rigid of what types of movies I will pay to go see than what type of book I will read. As an author, I am in the process of stepping outside my comfort zone and branching out in my writing to step across different genres. Just like an actor or actress you do not want to be typecast by your audience.

I am one of those authors affected, and I was fortunate enough to have the files from one of my two books. My first book I do not have the ready press files, nor was I willing to add insult to injury and pay for them.

Thank God for new beginnings and second chances! It seems after about two years of tumultuous transition due to marriage and becoming a partner in my husbands photography business, my writing ceased to a halt.

The truth about the beach portraits and wedding photography business is it is seasonal here in Florida; which means it is feast time in spring and summer, and famine time in fall and winter. Unless you are storing away the nuts you make in feast time, you starve in famine time!

But the good news is, I now have time to catch up with my passion, which is writing. I have begun to re-vamp the sequel to "In His Love" and it will leave readers chomping at the bit at its suspense and mystery.

This is one of the best book to movie renditions I have seen.

The movie is almost three hours, but since there is more than one storyline going, the pace is steady and suspenseful throughout.

Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara did an outstanding performance in their characters!

It is very explicit and has several sex scenes that does not leave anything to the imagination; so keep that in mind when choosing this as a Sunday matinee for the children!

Overall, if you have read the book you will love this movie!
